Artist Robert Holman (Born in 1958) grew up in the metro Phoenix area of Arizona. Like many successful artists, he began cultivating his creative mind when he was still very young and continued to pursue an education in colleges of arts in both Utah and Arizona. Robert later went to Taiwan where he spent two years and acquired an impassioned fondness of oriental art and tradition. Robert works with an independent mind and does not rely solely on specific periods or movements in art history to drive his own unique posters, art, and prints. However, he does appreciate the fluidity of present day watercolorists. For him, the wonder of the world itself and the splendor of the world leaves an impression that long outlasts any artistic movement. Robert is an ardent traveler and it is from this that he gets his inspiration and ideas for his artwork.
All of Robert’s posters, art, and prints embrace balance in a way that makes them captivating. It is an anecdote of light and dark; from abstract to realism; from translucent to opaque. His style is captures life’s nuances in both dramatic and subtle ways and is quite diverse in nature. It is Robert understands the delicacies in oriental culture enabling him to have a command of shading and translucence. Whether he is dealing with a resonant color field abstract or a graceful watercolor landscape, his work evokes a feeling of tranquility and peace. Robert’s works have been exhibited at solo and group shows with much success.
