Galloimages Online was founded by Mark S. Perry (born 1955). They also represent iStock and Thinkstock by Getty Images. Perry was born in the historic, picturesque river town of Marietta, Ohio. He has spent his entire life in Ohio. He was raised along the Ohio River in the Belpre, OH. Perry’s interests were the arts and science throughout his education. Perry studied at and graduated from Ohio University in Athens, where he majored in microbiology.

After his graduation he completed the pre-medical technology program, and then went ahead to become a registered medical technologist and specialized in microbiology. Before then he was fascinated by his father’s Polaroid camera. His interest in photography was strong in the 1960s but life didn’t allow him to pursue photography with the vigor that he intended until later in life. His keenness to his artwork can be attributed to his medical background. And he considered the years he spent studying medicine as a blessing in disguise. His career in medicine was distinguished and consisted of successful positions in diagnostic sales and management. Perry also officiated college and high school baseball for 38 seasons.
