Darlou Gams Wall Art

Darlou Gams was born in California and raised in Idaho. All her life she’s always loved art and while still a small child, she had a dream of becoming a full time artist. She received her BFA from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California. She enjoyed success as an artist and illustrator after graduation, before transitioning into a life as a full time fine artist to fulfill her childhood dream. With her illustration experience as a foundation, Darlou uses the landscape and the figure as a canvas to explore design, color, texture and shape. Her paintings are an evolving expression of her, her surroundings and her vision. She’s now considered to be one of the finest artists in California. She’s inspired by the nature of light as an endless subject matter that nature provides, both in landscape and the human form.

The ever changing quality of landscape is a lone constant that creates subtle and dramatic variations in her art. Her goal is to capture the beauty provided by nature, not simply a pictorial scene, but as something much more personal and intimate. He adds a modern perspective to his art, combining light and color in a unique way to create his landscapes. Her preferred medium is Oil paint on linen over white birch panel and her subjects include figures, landscapes, and still life. Darlou is inspired by Anders Zorn, Gustav Klimt and George Inness. The artist lives on the seacoast of New Hampshire with her husband, daughter and son.
