Kelly Donovan Wall Art

American painter Kelly Donovan primarily paints cowboys and the symbols of cowboys’ culture. He has been investigating these themes since his childhood, and he has won several awards for his work. As a young boy on the Rocky Mountains (on the western slope) in the state of Colorado, the artist loved cowboys, and almost as soon as he could hold a pencil, he began drawing them. At only 15 years of age, he had his first art show, which was very successful, and since that then, he has had numerous other successful shows. He continues to paint cowboys and their unique culture and already has a ready market for his art. He decided to move even further west into the state of Utah where he currently resides in Corinne with his wife and their 5 children.

Donovan has been a noted artist since the age of 25. He draws inspiration from historical documents that describe the lives of cowboys in the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as from the western slope of the Rocky Mountains where he spent his childhood. He has won several recognitions and awards for his art through the years. A magazine, “Southwestern Art” referred to him as “an artist to watch” early in his career, and since that time, he has been referred to as a western icon by the magazine. Donovan has also been featured in several other magazines that focus on western themes and art. Many of his pieces of art are very active in tone, and contain great light and brilliant colors.
