Elise Remender Wall Art

Elise Remender (Born 1977) was born in Phoenix, Arizona. She completed her high school the proceeded to the Academy of Art is San Francisco, California. She started her work by specializing in illustrations for children’s literature and spent her last years concentrating on portraiture and landscapes. After graduation, Remender developed a unique style of abstract art that is both imaginative and emotional. When she returned to the Pacific Northwest, she was inspired by the surrounding landscape. Elise’s most recent figurative works were inspired by the timeless beauty and elegance of mid-century beach culture. The scenes she captures are those of the enduring attitudes and style found in the 1940s and 1950s fashions. She carefully renders the sparkling water, stunning colorful beach umbrellas and realism of mid-century fashion in minimalistic spaces.

Elise combines emotion and texture of an abstract background with the warmth of realism to constantly explore new techniques in her work resulting in a continually evolving artwork. She has therefore established an aesthetic that is filled with emotion, dazzling in light, and rich in color. She has a background in realism that is tightly rendered because of her training in children’s illustration. Elise feels that the culture, architecture and green environment that surround her in abundance enrich her life, which then is translated into her pieces of artwork. She paints beautiful flowers, still-lifes and landscapes. Elise has fond memories of her mother taking her to the art supply store. As a little girl, her idea of a great gift was art supplies.
