Heather Judge Wall Art

Heather Judge’s art provides cross-sections of her journeys and is a reflection of her experiences. She was born and raised in the Midwest, in Western Michigan, but now lives in Arizona. Judge’s art is influenced by 2 different beauties in nature — the desert and water. According to her, she’s inspired to tell a story by the textures and the patterns as well as the colors found in nature. Many will realize that many of her references are obvious, tactile, and literal, while others are abstract, symbolic and transparent. She creates to give pleasure to the senses and to evoke imagination. The artist creates mixed media collage paintings in which she transports outside elements and brings them into interior spaces. Heather uses texture to build a surface that is tactile, atmospheric and structural.

She collects fine art papers from around the world which she then cuts and layers within her paintings just like a tapestry. Heather uses sophisticated color palettes which she combines with botanical undertones creating paintings that are charming and whimsical. The artist has been inspired by all of the time that she has spent around water. Her greatest inspiration has been fish, and they have been a recurring theme in her artwork. Heather has lived in Arizona for more than 10 years and studied at Arizona State University where she majored in Studio Arts and Art Education specializing in Fiber Arts. She’s currently continuing her studies in Italian and Art History. Her goal of is to share the skills and knowledge that had been shared with her.
